Sports and Dynamics
This collection of photos was created to capture the dynamic motion of sports as well as to try and replicate the style of magazine portrait covers.
These photos feature a University School of Jackson tennis coach.
College Transition
College Transition is about just that: the transition from college to the wider world. It is a scary and uncertain time. The photos attempt to capture the subject’s mindset as they realize their time in traditional education is ending. Though the bright light at the end of the tunnel is full of opportunity, it is equally frightening and full of uncertainty.
Senior Portaits
This is a collection of send-off photos for two close friends as they are about to graduate. Graduation photos are a simple premise, reflected through two distinct personalities to make them unique.
Shadow
Over the Rainbow
Shadow Over the Rainbow is a collection created after a set of interviews with those who identify with the LGBTQ+ community. For the photos, I used stand-in-body actors in place of the interview subjects in order to leave them anonymous. These photos were intended to reflect what I gleaned from those interviews. I felt it necessary to present the feelings of those who are talked about but so rarely get to a chance to speak.
Light Painting
This is a personal project, experimenting with a very different photography technique. Light painting involves turning light sources on and off in conjunction with a long exposure time to create unique lighting. Some use this to draw or create effects that otherwise could not be accomplished. For these photos, I was experimenting with ways to enhance them using this method by coloring specific areas of the photos to accent them.
